Not knowing where to go when you’re facing a health concern can be a common problem. There are many reasons this can boil down to - for instance 1) the lack of understanding around your condition 2) the absence of nearby healthcare, and 3) time and money.
This article is set to provide you with the necessary answers you need when wondering whether to visit or not to visit your local Allied Pharmacy!
Community is the heart of pharmacy! With over 150 branches across England and Wales, our mission at Allied Pharmacy is to be a go-to for minor, everyday health.
Unlike other providers, some of our important services don’t require an appointment - and this results in low waiting times and more patients being seen. So, it’s goodbye to call back calls and rushed appointments...
With the likes of the NHS Pharmacy First scheme, eligible patients can receive pharmacist advice and treatment for up to seven common ailments. But that’s not all! This scheme is operated on a walk-in basis.
Alongside Pharmacy First, many of our services don’t require an appointment, making your minor, everyday health concerns quicker and more accessible to treat!
As the Pharmacy First scheme is only available in England, in Wales, our stores offer a similar service known as the Common Ailments Scheme. This scheme provides patients with pharmacist advice and treatment for up to 27 minor conditions. Yes, 27!
So, when you really need fast, trustworthy healthcare, you can turn to us for your non-urgent medical needs.
For urgent or life-threatening emergencies, a pharmacy is not the right service for you to receive the best treatment as quickly as possible!
However, for other health needs it is likely you will be advised to either visit a pharmacist or your GP. Many of our services are also available via a GP Practice, but what sets us apart is the quick care we are able to provide.
At Allied Pharmacy we let our patients do the singing when it comes to the success of our services!
Just take a look at one of our glowing reviews at our branch, Allied Pharmacy Northern Moor:
“I had my BP checked by the really helpful Pharmacist who sent me away with a monitor. Really helpful and he informed me of all the services they provide.”
So if you were thinking our patient care only extends to dispensing current or ongoing prescriptions, you are mistaken!
If you’re looking to see the healthcare we offer, you can take a look on our website via the ‘Our Treatments & Services’ page. Here you can click on a specific service you’re interested in and learn more.
Each service page provides in-depth insight into what is involved, who is eligible and its benefit to your health and well-being.
In addition, you can narrow your search further by using the postcode locator found on our service pages. This tool enables you to search for our nearby stores offering the relevant service you need, close to your postcode address.
So, next time you’re experiencing a health concern and are battled with the question ‘to visit or not to visit the pharmacy’ you can quickly scroll through our website and find if we provide the help you need!
