When should I book my Hajj 2026 vaccinations?
Ideally, book your appointment at least 4–6 weeks before you travel. Some vaccines need time to take effect, and a few — like Hepatitis B — require multiple doses across several weeks. The mandatory Men ACWY must be administered at least 10 days before arrival in Saudi Arabia, otherwise the certificate will not be accepted at the border.
If you are travelling late and only have a short window, do not skip it — many vaccines still offer protection, and our pharmacists can talk you through the best schedule for your timeframe.
What to bring to your appointment:
- Your passport — the certificate must match the name on your passport exactly.
- Your travel dates and itinerary.
- Any previous vaccination records you have (paper records, NHS App, GP printout).
- A list of any current medications or medical conditions.
- Payment — most travel vaccines are private; we will confirm pricing when you book.
Frequently asked questions
Q. Is the Men ACWY vaccine free on the NHS for Hajj?
A. No. Men ACWY is free for some teenagers under the routine NHS childhood schedule, but Hajj travellers normally pay privately at a travel clinic.
Q. Can I have multiple travel vaccines on the same day?
A. Yes — most travel vaccines can be safely given together. Your Allied Pharmacist will advise you on the day.
Q. What if I had Men ACWY as a teenager?
A. The conjugate vaccine certificate is valid for 5 years. If your last dose was more than 5 years ago you will need a booster before travel.
Q. Do I need a yellow fever certificate?
A. Only if you are travelling to Saudi Arabia from (or have recently visited) a yellow-fever risk country. See the GOV.UK country list.
Q. Are the vaccines safe in pregnancy?
A. Most are, but advice is individual. Speak to your Allied Pharmacist, GP or midwife before booking.
Q. What about COVID-19 and flu jabs?
A. Saudi authorities strongly recommend up-to-date COVID-19 and seasonal flu vaccinations for all pilgrims, especially those with long-term conditions.
